Frenship’s T.J. Miller jumps above Midland Christian defender and scores.

MIDLAND -- Frenship took a while to wiggle away from Midland Christian before snaring a 54-44 triumph Tuesday.

The Tigers (4-1) and Mustangs (3-5) went toe-to-toe for 24 minutes and entered the fourth period deadlocked. In the final period, T.J. Miller and Jalen Braziel combined for 13 points and the defense clamped down to limit Midland Christian to 7 points.

Miller paced Frenship with 16 points, bolstered by a pair of 3-pointers. Braziel chimed in with 11 and Jamarion Phenix added 10.

Godfrey had a big night with 20 points Monday in a 63-42 victory at Abilene Wylie.

Mustangs bounce back to barrel past Monahans

MONAHANS -- Coronado jolted Monahans early Tuesday and never let off the gas on the way to a 91-56 victory.

The Mustangs got 17 points apiece from Ty Green, bolstered by 4 3-pointers, and Kevin Evans to roll to the win and bounce back from their first loss of the season the day before.

Coronado (4-1) churned out 29 first-quarter points led by Evans’ 8 and finished every quarter with at least a 19-point cushion.

DeShawn Hill, Hunter Stamps and T’Andre Scott supplied 10 points each for the Mustangs.

No information was provided on Coronado’s 62-50 loss on Monday.

LEVELLAND -- Lubbock High fought back from a narrow halftime deficit to clip Levelland 44-39 on Monday for the Westerners’ second victory this season.

Down 23-21 at the intermission, LHS (2-3) outscored the Lobos 23-16 in the second half, with Cole Stephens leading the way with 7 fourth-quarter points on the way to a game-high 11.

Braeden Gibbs added 7 points for the Westerners, who dropped a 56-51 decision at Seminole on Tuesday. No information was provided from that game.

Matadors shake free in the 2nd quarter to barrel past Seminole

SEMINOLE -- Estacado used its deep corral of guards to break open a close game and surge past Seminole 78-41 on Monday.

Ja’Kobe Williams led the 3rd-ranked Matadors (2-1) with 20 points, Kreeland Avery scored 18 and DeLauren Gordon chipped in with 15 – that trio outscoring the Indians alone.

Avery buried 3 3-pointers and Williams knocked down a pair.

Estacado is the lone city team in action later this week with a trip to Wichita Falls for the City of Lights Tournament. The Mats take on Fort Worth Brewer at 4 p.m. at Wichita Falls Hirschi then take on Plano East at 8 p.m. at Wichita Falls High.

Patriots stay unbeaten with narrow road win at Lorenzo

LORENZO -- All Saints struggled to find a groove against Lorenzo in the first half before big man Rowe Osborne took over in the final 16 minutes.

The Patriots rallied for a 37-35 triumph with a big third quarter and Osborne was a big reason why. He scored 6 points in each of the final two quarters on the way to a game-high 18 points to help All Saints (5-0) stay unbeaten.

Rohan Felton notched 7 points for the Patriots.
