ODESSA -- No need for sharing now.

Frenship put the finishing touch on the outright District 2-6A championship on Friday by plugging past a stubborn Odessa High crew 50-44.

Unlike most of its league games this season, the Tigers had to play right down to the final buzzer to prevail.

The Lady Bronchos (15-16, 3-6 district) grabbed a brief lead in the final frame, but Frenship (26-5, 9-0) remained calm.

Airron Gaydon pumped in a key 3-pointer, Zaria Fowler scored inside and Maci Maddox drained two foul shots with 1:07 to go to help the Tigers survive. Maddox topped Frenship with 15 points and got plenty of help from Kaylee Rendon with 13 points. Fowler turned in one of her better performances of the season with 11 points.

With the district championship sewed up, the Tigers finish the regular season on the road at Midland High.
